Gilbert Days 2008 is presented by SanTan Ford. The celebration begins Friday, November 7 and continues through Sunday, November 23, 2008.
Gilbert Days is a week-long celebration of Gilbert's rich western heritage and a salute to the community spirit and love of pageantry that has thrived in Gilbert for more than a half a century.
Gilbert Days kicks off with the re-enactment of the historical Pony Express ride from Gilbert to Florence and several other southeast valley towns, visiting mayors and other community officials and returning back to Gilbert.
The Gilbert Days Parade will take place Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 9:00am and is a dazzling spectacle for the whole family. It will be followed by an “After Parade Party” at Gilbert’s Town Hall. There will be entertainment, vendors, arts & crafts, a Chili Cook-Off, and lots of FUN!
Next, are the showcase events for the cowboys and cowgirls that come from all over the country to participate in the Gilbert Days Jackpot Roping, Competition Barrel Racing and the Gilbert Days Budweiser IPRA Rodeo. This year the Gilbert Days Budweiser IPRA Rodeo is co-sanctioned by the Grand Canyon State Rodeo Association. But before the adults have their fun, the little ones get to compete in the Lil’ Dudes Rodeo held before each adult rodeo competition.
Right next to the Gilbert Rodeo Park arena is the Gilbert Days Carnival, complete with rides, games, prizes, and mouth-watering concessions.
