Trotting along now is the 2008 Gilbert Days Rodeo Royalty Court. These gals have been traveling the wonderful state of Arizona supporting the sport of rodeo. They have traveled from Payson to Tucson, Globe to Maricopa and gathering places in between.

The Gilbert Days Royalty have a community platform. They are on the lookout for kind deeds and ask for Good Deed Detectives to join their search. Today's news often reports the negative side of life; somewhat ignoring the acts of sunshine being performed by good hearted people. This group of young horsewomen donate many hours of community service and are honored to tell their kind deed stories. They visit schools and share their knowledge of our western heritage and the beauty of the horse. So, let's trot along a bit further and find out about each one of the 2008 Gilbert Days Rodeo.

What's a cowgirl without a good influence of family and friends? I don't know where I'd be without them! My incredible parents have always been there for me in one way or another. My sister should be a psychiatrist because she always listens to my problems and tries to help fix them. Not to mention the good times and fun memories shared with family and friends.

With the support of family and friends I graduated from Desert Hills High School in December of 2006 and walked with my graduating class in May of 2007, in the top 7% of my class. In January of 2007, I started a 9 month Vet Assistant program at Apollo College. During my last two months at Apollo I was duel enrolled at both Apollo and Chandler-Gilbert Community College. I am currently 19 years old and half way through my second semester of my freshman year at CGCC. As I look toward the future, I know I'll reach my goals.

I am also an employee at Power Ranch Animal Hospital. The knowledgeable staff and my former education are both making my job very enjoyable!

And of course what's a Rodeo Queen without rodeo experience to fill that crown?! My rodeo career is lengthy and long, but being a rodeo queen is definitely a first. Through the years I have been a member of the Arizona High School Rodeo Association, the Arizona Junior Rodeo Association and the 4-H Club. I have achieved many accomplishments over this time such as qualifying for High School Rodeo Regional's two years in a row and the National High School Finals, all on a horse that I trained myself! Currently I am a member of the (WPRA) Women's Professional Rodeo Association and the (GCPRA) Grand Canyon Pro Rodeo Association looking to gain new goals on the young horses that are currently still in training.

Hi, I am Rebecca Johnson and I am excited and honored to represent Gilbert Days as the 2008 Teen Queen! I am a sixteen year old sophomore at Desert Vista High School and have lived in Ahwatukee, Arizona since I was 3 years old. I am the daughter of Bob and MaryAnn Johnson. I have an older sister, Melissa and a younger brother, Kyle. Thanks to the support of my parents and family, I have been able to do what I love most and that is to ride horses, carry on the western way of life and help others.

My Grandparents gave me a most spectacular present and that was my very special horse - Buck. This started a truly awesome adventure. We have traveled throughout the state of Arizona, riding in parades, rodeo's, horse shows, participating in team sorting, educational opportunities and 4-H, meeting new people and spreading the western way of life. I am a guest cowgirl with the Cowgirl Historical Foundation and I was the 2007 Sr. Teen Queen for Lost Dutchman Days. I am a member of the American Diabetic Association and I often volunteer for Angel Acres, a therapeutic riding center for children. It is going to be a great year full of exciting rodeos and events. So remember to kick up the kindness, and I hope to see you along the way.

Remember; mark your calendars and join us for a week-long, fun filled time at the Gilbert Days Rodeo in November. See you there!

Howdy! I'm Dana McKenzie, your 2008 Gilbert Days Senior Princess.   My parents are Gary and Gayle McKenzie and I have an 11 year old brother named Turner. I have loved horses since I wrapped my arms around my grandpa's horse's leg when I was 3 years old. Since then, I have been riding horses competitively in 4-H and in rodeos all around the state of Arizona.   This is my third year as a rodeo queen and I am proud to represent the town of Gilbert, their rodeo tradition, and western heritage. I attend Aprende Middle School as an 8th grader where I participate in track and field, softball and National Junior Honor Society. In the fall I am looking forward to attending Corona del Sol High School. I hope to see you all at lots of rodeos around the state and at Gilbert Days in November!!

Hello!   My name is Lindsey Herrmann, and I am your 2008 Gilbert Days Rodeo Princess!   I am an eleven year old cowgirl from Chandler, where I live with my mom, my dad, my sister Kelsey, my dog, and my two cats. I am a straight A student in 6th grade, a new member of the National Charity League (NCL), the treasurer of my 4-H club, and an aspiring chef! In my free time, I like to trail ride and work cows with my horses- Duke and Freckles, play tennis and swim, act, babysit, and hang out with my friends!   My favorite thing to do on the weekends, though, is to travel around Arizona attending parades and rodeos!

I am so excited and proud to be representing the great town of Gilbert again. Some of you may recognize me as your 2006 Gilbert Days Rodeo Missy. My favorite Gilbert events are the big 4th of July Celebration, the Gilbert Rodeo Days in November, and especially the Pony Express Ride! I look forward to all of these memorable activities and representing our awesome rodeo, and the wonderful members of the Gilbert Promotional Corporation, across the state of Arizona! I hope all of you can join me along the trail! Western Wishes!

Howdy Rodeo Fans! I’m Lauren Bullard, and I’m delighted to be the 2008 Gilbert Days Rodeo Missy. When my family relocated to Arizona from Michigan, we moved to a suburban setting. It took about four years to decide we needed horses in our lives! That’s when we made the great Town of Gilbert our home! Now, we have eight horses to love and care for.

I’m ten years old, the youngest of four, and homeschooled. I received my horse “Buffy” for my eighth birthday. Buffy and I can be seen barrel racing at Maricopa County 4-H events, Chandler Vaquero Saddle Club, East Side Progressive Barrel Racing Association and every Thursday night at the Gilbert Rodeo Park for barrel racing practice. We also help out the Gilbert Promotional Corporation on Wednesday and Friday nights for their roping events. Buffy and I love to run and have the wind in our hair. It’s a great feeling, come on out and see us!

I am looking forward to meeting all the fans at rodeo events and parades throughout Arizona, and especially at Gilbert Days on November 21-23, 2008. Mark your calendars and I’ll see you there! Until then, enjoy every beautiful sunset. I wish you safe and happy trails, and God Bless!
